Temporary Accommodation
Local authorities and central government departments often need safe, decent accommodation at short notice, for households who are homeless or need a place to stay while longer-term arrangements are made.
We work on behalf of private and public organisations, including property owners, investors, Registered Providers and public bodies, to provide and run that accommodation. We make sure each property is safe and compliant, manage it day to day, and look after the people placed there, so that commissioners can place households with confidence.
We help owners and partners find suitable properties, then furnish and prepare them so they are ready to use.
We arrange and track the checks every home needs, including gas safety, electrical safety, fire safety and any licences required, before anyone moves in and throughout.
We work with the placing authority to arrange each placement, welcome new residents and explain how the accommodation works.
Our housing officers manage each property and occupancy day to day, deal with any issues quickly and keep good records.
We carry out regular checks on residents and act quickly on any safeguarding concerns, working with the placing authority and support services.
Residents can report repairs at any time, and urgent problems are dealt with 24 hours a day.
When a household moves on, we clean, check and prepare the property so it can be used again quickly.
We manage nightly or weekly charges, Housing Benefit and invoicing accurately and on time.
We give councils and government departments regular, clear reports on occupancy, standards and any incidents.
We work with partners to help households move on to settled homes as soon as they are ready.
