Head of Housing Income

Reports to: Operations Director – Supported Housing

Hours: 40 hrs per week: 8:30am to 5:00pm

Salary: £45,000

Location: Home based or Leeds office

Job Role

The Head of Income at Myshon is responsible for the proactive management of tenant payments and the setting of rents and service charges for Supported Housing, PRS, Transitional Housing, Temporary Accommodation, Specialised Supported Housing, and all forms of tenure managed by Myshon.

This role ensures seamless liaison between the Income Team and Regional Housing Support teams, constantly improving services, procedures, and processes to enhance efficiency and collection levels that meet stretch targets.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

  • Lead and manage the Income Team, including the Income Officers, and the Rents and Service Charge Officer.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
  • Provide regular training and development opportunities for team members.

Housing and Support Income Management

  • Oversee all aspects of residents’ payment collection and management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximise income collection and minimise arrears.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payments and adjustments.Set rents and service charges
  • Supported Housing, PRS, Transitional Housing, Temporary Accommodation, Specialised Supported Housing, and all forms of tenure managed by Myshon.
  • Ensure that payments are rapidly and accurately allocated to all tenants across the entire Myshon portfolio of landlords
Reporting and Liaison
  • Provide reports that enable Operations Directors to deliver assurance to their clients on income performance and related issues.
  • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between the Housing Income Team and Regional Housing Support teams.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on income management to senior management.

  • Continuously review and improve income management services, procedures, and processes.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance service delivery.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of income management strategies.
Compliance and Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to income management.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.

  • Reporting – Experience in preparing and presenting reports to senior management. 
  • Service Improvement – Track record of reviewing and improving services, procedures, and processes. 
  • Rent and Service Charge Setting – Experience in setting rents and service charges for Supported Housing, Specialised Supported Housing, and other tenures.

  • Rent and Service Charge Setting – Ensure accurate and fair setting of rents and service charges for all housing types managed by Myshon.
